Grupo Alves Bandeira honored twice by the Figueira da Foz Firefighters on their 142nd anniversary
2025-01-28As part of the celebrations for the 142nd anniversary of the Associação Humanitária de Bombeiros Voluntários da Figueira da Foz, Grupo Alves Bandeira was doubly honored by the institution, standing out as a key partner in supporting the firefighters' cause.
One of the most symbolic honors was the naming of the new rescue ambulance as "Cassiano Alves Bandeira and all those who contributed,” in tribute to the founder of the 100% Portuguese group. This gesture celebrates the legacy of Cassiano Alves Bandeira, a man and entrepreneur who always guided his life by principles of solidarity and service to the community.
Another highlight was the awarding of the Honorary Member diploma to Grupo Alves Bandeira, recognizing decades of unwavering support for the Figueira da Foz Volunteer Firefighters. This title acknowledges the Group's role as a patron of various initiatives, notably the recent solidarity show "Insónia,” starring Fernando Mendes, which played a significant role in enabling the purchase of the rescue ambulance. The event, held at the Centro de Artes e Espetáculos da Figueira da Foz, raised €10,000, which was further supplemented by contributions from companies and individuals, thereby facilitating the acquisition of this essential vehicle for the Association's mission.
According to Paulo Bandeira, Administrator of Grupo Alves Bandeira and grandson of Cassiano Alves Bandeira, "This is a moment of great significance for our family and Grupo Alves Bandeira, especially as we celebrate our 50th anniversary. My grandfather would certainly be proud of this recognition, not for personal promotion, but as a reflection of a genuine and sincere way of being in society. We believe that supporting local institutions is the right way to contribute to collective well-being, something my grandfather always practiced and which we continue to honor daily.”
The new rescue ambulance, now named after Cassiano Alves Bandeira, is already in operation, serving the population of Figueira da Foz and fulfilling the institution's ultimate purpose: saving lives.
With these honors, Grupo Alves Bandeira reaffirms its commitment to social responsibility and to supporting associations that play a vital role in the safety and well-being of the communities.
