2024-06-19

Grupo Alves Bandeira is pleased to announce Camila Rebelo, the talented Portuguese swimmer and new European champion in the 200-meter backstroke, as the new brand ambassador. She joins other talents supported by the 100% national Group, including names such as judoka Catarina Costa, swimmer Diogo Cancela, and drivers Filipe Albuquerque (automobilism), Diogo Ventura (enduro), Afonso Gomes (motocross), Gonçalo Figueiredo (motocross), Martim Marco (motorcycle racing), Frederico Rocha (enduro), João Pinheiro (kartcross), and the veteran Daniel Jordão (off-road racing).

"Although the partnership has been sealed since last May and we planned its communication for the week before the Olympic Games, we decided together to bring forward this announcement, leaving no doubts about our desire to have Camila as our ambassador, regardless of the result achieved at the European Championship,” said Pedro Mascarenhas, Marketing Director of Grupo Alves Bandeira.

With a career marked by enormous dedication and numerous achievements, Camila represents values such as excellence, hard work, perseverance, determination, and ambition, which Grupo Alves Bandeira identifies with and strives to practice daily.

Pedro Mascarenhas has no doubts in stating that "Camila Rebelo embodies the determination and excellence we want to see reflected in all our Group’s companies and employees. We are very pleased to have her as an ambassador and are confident that Camila will certainly be a source of pride and inspiration, not only for our teams but also for our customers and all who follow her journey. As a proudly Portuguese Group, we will continue to do everything we can to promote and value our talents and national sport.”

Born on February 3, 2003, in Vila Nova de Poiares, where Alves Bandeira had its first offices and still maintains its fiscal headquarters, Camila started her swimming career at just 2 years old when her mother enrolled her to learn to swim. Since then, she has made constant progress, joining the national team in 2016. Outside the aquatic world, the current European champion studies Medicine, currently in her 3rd year at the University of Coimbra.

Already qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games in the 200-meter backstroke since March 2023, Camila has accumulated several achievements throughout her career. Among her most recent victories, besides the Gold Medal won yesterday at the European Championship, are her two times as World University Vice-Champion in August 2023, 5th place in the 200-meter backstroke at the Short Course European Championship in December 2023, and 10th place in the 100-meter backstroke at the Long Course World Championship in February this year.
